Water Blessing

The City of Plymouth has partnered with Hennepin History Museum to host a water blessing 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13 at West Medicine Lake Park, 1920 W. Medicine Lake Drive. Along with cultural advisors and community partners, the public is invited to attend to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day with the Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ water blessing.

Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ, the Dakota name for Bassett Creek, loosely translates to Falls Creek. Medicine Lake is the largest of the lakes in the Bassett Creek Watershed. The event will be held rain or shine, and attendees may bring chairs or blankets.
